Kids and Grands

We spent Wednesday night with the Chewnings. Olivia, Zack and Zoe were excited to see us  and Lydia had a great time playing with the girls in the baP1030722ck yard. They leave Friday morning for a week in Florida which includes several days at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, then the University of Florida spring practice football game. We will not see these folks for a while, so the visit was great. We’re gonna miss them!

On Friday we traveled to Stone Mountain Park outside Atlanta. Some of our kids and grand kids will join us for part or all of our 4 day stay. Todd arrived about 11 and Lisa and Ian showed up at 5pm. P1030746Todd and Lydia started cooking while I helped Lisa set up their campsite because Jimmy was still at work. Later the whole crowd ate supper outside on our picnic table. We taught Lisa and Todd how to play Sequence.

The next day started with Todd and Ian hiking to the top of Stone Mountain. Brenna and her boy friend, Dean, stopped by for a short visit. Todd and I played golf while Lisa cooked supper. After eatingP1030754 outside again, everyone relaxed around the campfire.  Jim whipped up some Mexican Margaritas and the girls dutifully drank them.  Such a difficult task!

P1030772Francie and her boy friend, Carlos, arrived Monday around noon. Thanks to a donation by Lydia all the grand kids left to experience the many attractions this park offers. Lisa and Lydia cooked a great P1030759meal, then packed it up to take to the evening laser spectacular P1030768show complete with music and fireworks. It never ceases to inspire and amaze.

Tuesday was the end of the stay for the Roberts family. We helped Lisa pack up because Jimmie drove to work early this morning. After lunch they visited the attractions one more time before heading for home. We spent several hours cleaning up trailer before relaxing the rest of the afternoon. We depart tomorrow for Jasper, a visit to the storage room, and check in with friends.

'Til next time ....
