Well, that’s the way the time goes down here – hardly a free minute to update the blog. Our visit here has been fabulous. So much so, that we’re already planning next year.

I said I would update the quilting experience I had. The project was quilted placemats with a pocket to hold a napkin and silverware. (Bent Tree Monday night picnickers take note!) Barb and I visited Fabrics by the Pound to purchase what I needed – what a dangerous place! I somewhat restrained myself and only got enough for 4 placemats. I had not known about the classes so I didn’t bring my sewing machine or any other sewing supplies. Not to worry – the Quilters group has several loaner machines and plenty of supplies . After multiple false starts, I finally got all the squares cut out. Yesterday I spent about 5 hours in the clubhouse with about a dozen other quilters, and got the pieced part done. I haven't done any quilting for about 9 years and it was so much fun to do it again. I think the sewing machine will have to travel with us whenever we go to an Escapees park.
Speaking of the park, it is one of the nicest at which we’ve stayed. Here's a short slide show of the park and one of the restaurants we visited. By the way, Lulu's last name is Buffet as in "Cheeseburger in Paradise" or "Wasting Away Again in Margaritaville" whatever your preference. Fun place!
Until the next time, we hope you have enjoyed this blog so far. Let us know what you think about it.
