We left Rainbow Plantation on Sunday for the 200 miles drive to Percy Quin State park near McComb, MS. Our daughter, Lisa Ann, organized this week that included us and two of their camping friends. We had 4 campsites - 8 adults - 5 kids - 2 dogs and 2 cats (but they stayed inside). Each family took a turn at organizing the evening meal - some really great meals with no leftovers! After eating we spent the rest of the evening sitting and talking around the campfire.

I got a chance to show off my golfing skills when the guys played at the state park golf course. I managed to break 100, but the other guys didn't keep score. We all agreed that it was a nice course for a state park ... and they sold beer!
The highlight of the week was a 2 hour boat tour of a privately owned wildlife refuge in legendary Manchac Swamp, about two hours south of our campground. The captain kept us fascinated with stories about the bayou, Cajun people, and native flora and fauna. People really got excited when he attracted a few 6-7 foot gators up to the boat by dragging some fresh chicken in the water. When the chicken ran out, he pulled a 3 foot gator out of a box. Check out Lydia holding Elvis! The swamp is really beautiful and we all thoroughly enjoyed the adventure.

Later, gator....
Hummmm, lets see, 1 dog, 2 cats and a gator! Now that will probably exceed your pet limit at Bent Tree!
