The later half of February continued with warmer than normal temps and no snow. Of course, no one complained. I played a little more golf, but my game left me and I became more frustrated. I hit a decent drive but the iron and chip shots were terrible. The best game I had playing golf with Lydia one day when I did not keep score.

Our friendship with volunteer neighbors, Brad and Kay Crenshaw, continued to develop. They had us over for dinner and Kay prepared a wonderful meal. We talked several hours after the meal. A couple days later Lydia realized that it was Fat Tuesday, so we cooked up some shrimp jambalaya. We invited Brad and Kay to join us for food and drink. I whipped up some hurricanes for the drink of the evening, but our friends do not drink. After dinner, we played Sequence for several hours and it was guys against the gals. Guess who won? They are planning on returning to HLC next fall as are we. Maybe the girls can let the guys have a rematch then.
We traveled into the city to celebrate Zack's birthday and spent the nite. It was the last time we could see these grand kids for about a month. The next day David and Mel were working at home, so they treated us to lunch at a nearby fresh pasta restaurant. No calories there!

On Feb 28th we got new neighbors when the next volunteer couple showed up, Glen and Linda Gasstron, from upstate New York. Lydia invited the "whole neighborhood" over for a happy hour. We learned that Glen and Linda volunteered here several times and they are real go-getters. They don't wait for a job assignment, they do things that need to be done. Glen is the state director of the New York state Good Sam Club and Linda is the secretary. Their energy makes us feel like slugs! We enjoyed getting to meet them and are sorry we can't spend more time with them. Maybe somewhere down the road ....?

| CAT with Sophie's catnip mouse. |
Lydia is agonizing over having to leave CAT, the stray she befriended while we were there. Since we already travel with two cats and a dog, Jim put his foot down and said NO WAY to adding another one. God does provide however, and Linda and Glen will take care of CAT while they are there. Hopefully the next campers will be as kind hearted and CAT will be waiting when we return this fall.

Feb 28th and 29th were our last work days at Hard Labor Creek state park golf course. After completing work there, Jim started cleaning up our campsite. Over our three month stay we've spread out and accumulated some stuff and it needed a place to travel with us. Our next stop would be the storage building in Jasper, GA to get some summer clothes. We also stored some stuff we won't need until next winter (hopefully!). Around noon on the Leap Day we hooked up and departed. Jasper, here we come!!
Until next time ....
